I went to Catholic school in elem...We only learned that things like this were of God. Were you ever taught ANYTHING about UFOs..being written about in ancient times? (I saw info from Jack P. on my other question and wonder why I was never taught any of this info.)Maybe I didn't take the right classes in High School or College.

  1. ufo's are called "unidentified" flying objects for a reason, either we don't know what they are or they are a government conspiracy (new tech they don't want to reveal).  either way, there isn't much to learn about them, and since most people who seriously look into them are labeled "loony", there really isn't much to learn about.  And what there is, isn't what people usually want to publically teach about.  There may be some kind of college class studying the influence of ufo sightings on history, but pre-college I doubt there would be anything, so you didn't miss out.

  2. Not in public school, not in private school, and not in college.

However, during the UFO festival in Roswell last year the Planetarium which is run the Roswell Public School District did offer one presentation on the scientific search for extraterrestrial life and another presentation on UFOs in ancient drawing and paintings through out history.

They were very careful to present the information (here is the picture) and not announce any conclusions.

  3. hi deenie.... sorry... i dont remember any thing like that.... but then i was always pretty dumb in school... dident realy pay much attention in history class... lol...

  4. I was in school 1949 through 1961, in eastern New Mexico until 1959.  We discussed UFOs and what they might be a lot in school because so many people were seeing them and nobody knew what they were [still don't]

There was a retrospectively obvious attempt by the teachers to, both find some answers through discussion and ease the minds of the children about them.

The general thought in those days leaned to it being US government testing new weaponry at the White Sands Proving Grounds 150 miles southwest of us.

But the incident described in this link [declassified US Air Force Incident Investigation] describing a UFO shutting down an ICBM site and injuring one of the security guards suggests whatever they are, it isn't US Government behind it.

And the investigation concerning two F4 fighters chasing one, trying to shoot it down, and being chased as a consequence also has some intriguing implications.

  5. I went to public school my whole 12 years which was 1997 - 2007 and we were never taught about UFOs. UFOs never came up in conversation; nor did Nessy, Bigfoot, or ghosts.

  6. no

  7. Noooooo [I hate it when they talk about paranormal or feng shui or rock music and say you should avoid it cause it represents Satan ...Is this gonna make us better as people and Christians ? I think it's so stupid and useless...] But I've never heard that UFOs are sent by God...

  8. When I was in grade school, UFO's were briefly discussed, but no one had an answer for why they were being accounted for, as is the situation today.

Until we're able to either capture or communicate with these vehicles, speculation of what they actually are will permeate.  I sincerely hope we're able to "communicate" with the occupants of these vehicles.

  9. No way as you never will be taught about paranormality!

  10. all the time. we even talk about witchcraft because my englsih teacher believes in wizards and witches and that they have real powers and there gonna take over the world. in history we talked about ufos when we discussed rome

  11. Most of our course material was about UFO's. I don 't know what kind of high school you went to.

  12. no, UFOs are "UNIDENTIFIED" (meaning noone can prove or categorize them) so there isnt much to learn about because there isnt much known about them.  I dont know if there even are classes on UFOs, but there probably are somewhere, if you look hard enough
