  1. Well think about it...

we have to put up with everything during their christmas time such as present giving and how Jesus was born or whatever and all of that other stuff... So why can't they get a taste of how our religion goes considering how we have to put up with Christmas, Easter and even non-Christian holidays such as, Yom Kippur or Kwanza or Hanuka! I thought America was a place of "freedom to practice religion" Whatever happened to peace?

They arent the ones losing their voice in Christianity; We're the ones losing our voice in Islam! It's like we dont even exist, with the fact that we dont even get a day off out of the year for Eid..

Well you know, it's all politics and media as far as that question goes but only Allah knows our future.

    Peace&&Love

    -Salam! ;-)

  2. @ Asker:

"What do you think of "Islamic" education being integrated into classrooms?"

It does not belong here in the states. PERIOD!

  3. i dont agree with the hold dressing up in hijab and 'jihad games' whateever the h**l that means!

Its a big no no also if a christian teacher is teaching it lol

  4. Its all propaganda.

But honestly, they should put Islam into school.

Last year in school, they had this spirit week and guess what students were to do: cross-dress and act like the opposite s*x.

They asked me why i didn't participate and i said because i'm not a tranvestite animal. lol.

Seems like christians tell their students to go become tranvestites.

Islam teaches to be modest and respectful.

    ^^^Well said Muslima.

  5. islam should not be taught in american schools

    america is a christian country

muslim countries would not allow christianity to be taught in schools so why should muslims expect this special treatment.

u muslims try to take over everywhere. go to a muslim country if u dont like it!

raw islam teaches u to be hateful suicide bombers.

christianity and jesus teaches love and peace.

to pinky: is america a christian country?:

There are millions of Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Shintoists, Unitarians, Hindus, Wiccans, Naturists, Agnostics, and Atheists, but Christians comprise roughly 84% of the population. Our constitutional legal system is still based on the Jewish/Christian Bible, not the Koran or other holy book. We still observe Sunday, the Christian Sabbath, as an official holiday. Easter and Christmas still have a special place in the holiday lexicon. The Ten Commandments are still on the wall behind the Supreme Court Justices when they take the bench. Our coins still display the motto "In God We Trust." The US is still firmly part of a Western Civilization fashioned by a Judeo-Christian religious ethic and heritage. Alexis de Tocqueville observed more than a century and a half ago, "There is no country in the world, where the Christian religion retains a greater influence over the souls of men than in America." That is still true today. We live, not under a Christian government, but in a nation where all are free to practice their particular religion, in accommodation with other religions, and in accordance with the basic principles of the nation, which are Christian in origin. It is in that sense that America may properly be referred to as a Christian nation.

  6. America is NOT a Christian country.  It is extremely unamerican to say it is.  America is a country with freedom of religion but essentially no religion.  Read the Constitution, there is no mention of Christianity or Jesus.

    ---

Population and culture is completely irrelevant to government.  If you are an American you should realize the implication of forced religion on people here.  I do not advocate religion in American public schools at all.  Religion is something that people do on their own, not connected to government at all.  Christianity OR ANY OTHER RELIGION has no place in the government of America, now or ever.

Some things of interest (just a few, there is so much more!):

~The Treaty of Tripoli (especially Article 11)

~Most of the founding fathers were not Christians, they were deists, many Free Masons.

~Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists in 1802/separation of church and state. (1st amendment interpretation)

~Jefferson's letter to Thomas Cooper in February 1814/re: Common Law explanation and "ANCIENT scripture" (NOT Holy Scripture)

    ~Wallace v. Jaffree ruling in 1985.

~The US Constitution is the GREATEST proof that America has no basis in religion.  The Constitution IS America or rather what America is based on.  Read it very closely and understand it's correlation to the Declaration of Independence.  (Keep in mind that the Declaration of Independence predates the Constitution and that the Constitution represents the law, or lawful government)

I know you are an ex-Muslim, you *might* be thinking that Muslims are extremist and fundamentalists.  You have certainly given off the impression that you have a real bad taste in your mouth from Islam, which is fine, you have your free will to come and go, I do not judge you for it and accept you as you are.  Just don't open your eye to one thing and close it to another.  Keep in mind that fundies come in all shapes, colours and sizes.  Sounds like maybe you've been getting your info from some religious right activists.  Please be careful.

I noticed I never really answered the true question here.  I initially posted to correct user 'who am I?'.  I didn't click any of your links asker, but honestly this is America and there really is no place for religion within it's government, so if the school you talk about is a public school then no, no Islam, no Christianity, no Judaism, no Hinduism or anything else in there.  Parents can teach their own kids at home or kids can read and figure out religion on their own.  Tolerance can be taught to kids in school and that includes religious tolerance.
