  1. He did indeed lose:

The character didn't need to win the fight to come full circle in the film.  He loved his girl, he got to fight in the big one and he proved to himself that he could mix it with the best.  That's what he was out to do the whole film. 'Win or lose, do your best' is the message, and Rocky is one of the few movies that actually backs up its words by actually displaying it on screen.

A brave move by the filmmakers.  Isn't that what we ask of them?  I wish more filmmakers today would be a little more brave and daring in their storytelling.

  2. Yes, he lost.  It was a split (2-1) decision in Apollo Creed's favor.

  3. He lost the fight, but went the distance...that's all he really wanted to do anyway. Just prove he could go every round with the champ! My favorite from the series!

  4. he loses, but he gains a moral victory cos he pushed the world champion right to his limits and lasted the full match. they had to let him lose cos otherwise it would be a bit too unrealistic, plus he remains more loveable for losing

  5. nope, he lost to Apollo Creed

  6. Watch the movie and find out for yourself.
