In Sims 2, can I buy fruits and vegetables from other lots?

I was thinking about having one lot do all of the farming for the neighborhood, but I wasn't sure if the other families would be able to buy apples to juice back home for the homework bonus. Basically, I haven't spent a lot of time using Open For Business so I'm not sure if this is possible.

Yes, you can. If you have Open For Business expansion pack you fan have a farming family, that grows crop and sells it at their business lot or at their home. But the crops wont cost that much and they will prolly sell out fast

Yes, you can start a home business on your farm lot that sells the fruits and vegetables. I'm not sure how to do this, as I haven't actually installed and played OFB yet. But, I did build a lot for someone who wanted to do this. She has OFB and said my lot was exactly what she wanted. The house is a B&B, there's a farm next to it (on the same lot), with a large barn that is to be used as the "shop" where sims can come to buy fruits and veg. I know the barn would need counters, display cases, and a register to be used as a business.
