In Sims 2, whats with the "patches" online?

I know there are patches you can download but my computer with sims can't access the net....can i download a patch onto a CD? where are the patches for clothes/objects?

  1. Patches fix (or pretend to fix) many glitches that were revealed in the game and its various expansions after its release. As an example, in the original Sims 2 there was a glitch where where the teddy bear would occasionally float after being put down. The patch fixed this problem and dozens of others.

    If you have Freetime it's probably the buggiest game ever...EA released a patch that fixed over 80 (!!!!!) glitches.

    You can go to the official site and download the patch for the latest version of your game. If you have many expansion packs you don't have to download all the patches, just the latest one. So if you have Nightlife and Pets for example, you only have to download the Pets patch. You can get the patches here:

    And of course you can download and save it to a disc or USB drive and then install it on your computer that way.  

    There are no patches required for clothes or objects. The patches usually only relate to game code.
