In TX when you apply for food stamps......?

Question

after you have the interview and he says you should have an answer by the 5th then what ?

If you get a letter saying you are approved then do they start immediately like do you go to the office and get a card and use it the same day or what will it take another couple of weeks to get started?

You get the note it has when you can go and get the card and within 2-3 hrs you should be able to use it.

As long as you turned in all your information correctly then you should be able to get the card as soon you get the letter. Did you apply for emergency food stamps most place won't make you wait if you did they would give you the card right then. But if not as soon as you get the letter call your case worker. She will be able to tell you something if it is not stated in the letter. If they gave you a date were you should know something and have not heard anything call. Stay on top of them they have to many cases and some get brushed off. Good luck.
