In Tales of Symphonia 2 can you get more than 10 characters?

Question

They said you can get only 10 characters in your party, but does that mean their are only 10 characters in this game? What about the Monsters?Can you get more than 10 characters? Plz anwser ive never played this game but i want to get Tales of symphonia 2.

You can only have 4 characters fighting during a battle, there are 10 characters total to pick from your party. The game isn't out yet (sometime this fall) so not all details are known.
