My friend told me that you are allowed to hit the ball onto the court when serving, yet I think that you should serve clean over the net. Who is right?

  1. Your right.

  2. When serving you must hit the ball into the opponents appropriate square without hitting your side of the court or the net at all.

  3. no,you cant bounce it  you are right

  4. you are right, the ball has to clear the net and cannot bounce on your own side before your opponents serve. :)

    good luck

  5. If you bounce the ball at your feet pick it up and then serve thats fine. If you serve it so it bounces on your court and then over the net to the other side than no. Once you complete your serve it must go over the net in to the right box and bounce with out having bounced in your court.

  6. you are, when you serve it should clear the net!

  7. If you mean if it can bounce on your side of the court then into the opponents side like in ping-pong, this is not allowed. This method is only allowed in ping-pong.

If you mean if you can 'dribble' (using the term loosely) the ball in court area, and then serve over the net, this is allowed.

  8. well buddy you are the one that is right.you are never allowed to bounce the ball in you own court in a serve you are allowed to do that only in table tennis.

  9. You can bounce it by dropping or throwing it with your hand, but the ball must clear the net and land in the correct area on the other side of the net after it touches your racket or it is a fault.

  10. You have to clear the net and get it into the correct box. If it hits the net or goes into your own box, you have to hit a second serve.

  11. He's thinking of ping pong your friend is quite dumb. Your right try not to listen to pure stupidity

  12. no
