I was playing a guy in tennis and he told me that I hit a very heavy ball. I took it as a compliment but I wasn't sure of what he meant by that.

  1. Hard topspin ball. I suppose it's sort of a compliment.

  2. Usually this means hitting the ball with heavy top spin, but it could also mean hitting the ball with a lot of pace, so that it really penetrates through the court.  Rafael Nadal, who hits with extreme top spin, hits a heavy ball. But Lindsay Davenport, who hits flatter, has been described as hitting a heavy ball because of the pace of her shots.  Either way, hitting a heavy ball tends to knock an opponent back on their heels.

  3. it means that you hit the ball with a lot of topspin. Hitting heavy is generally considered to be a good thing.

  4. If someone says you're hitting a heavy ball, that is a compliment.  It means that it's not only hit deep into the baseline but has pace and topspin.  In other words, you are hitting well.

  5. You hit the ball with pace and top spin. It was probably a complement or a joke if you hit the ball weakly!

  6. It could means many things:

    1) Hit hard and out ...no brainer

    2) Simply hitting hard ...hopefully you have a good percentage shot.

    3) The best way to answer your question is to ask him. Are you chicken your what? You cannot ask your partner to clarify?

  7. it's good since u're hitting the ball hard and with topspin. that shot is hard to return since u can't just tap the ball back in play like flat shots and it faster than a shot with a lot of topspin

  8. Nothing to worry about my coach tells me the same thing, it just means you put serious topspin or power into your hitting and it's  a great thing. When you hit heavy balls it's hard for your opponent to return them, keep it up.

  9. You hit it hard.

  10. Heavy refers to the amount of spin you hit on the ball.
