  1. Okay, you have to look at the number next to the players name. Player A won the first set 6-3 because he had more games than player B. Player B won the second set 6-1 because his 6 is bigger than player A's 1. Player B was up 2-1 in the third set.

  2. You read the scores vertically, rather than horizontally, so the score is 6-3 in the first set, 1-6 in the second set, and it is 1-2 in the third set so far.

  3. Each row is one set

Depending on the tournament, you need to win a certain amount of sets to win the match

Sometimes it is 2 out of 3 sets or 3 out of 5 sets. But once a person reaches 6 games (those are the indiviual numbers) and their opponent has 4 or less, they have won the set. If their opponent has 5 or 6 when they reach 6, extra games or tiebreakers are needed

  4. A won the first set 6 games to 3

B won the second set 6 games to 1

B is winning the 3rd set 2 games to 1

  5. "A" won first set 6-3

    B won second set 6-1

B is winning second set 2-1

  6. You read across the row, and the numbers tell you how many games that player won. For your example, Player A won the first set 6-3 and Player B won the second set 6-1.

  7. P B and jay K are right.  When the scores are announced the score of the server is usually said first.
