Question:

In Texas, can I raffle off cruise tickets I have purchased?

I want to purchase cruise tickets (extremely affordable at this time and place) and then raffle them off in order to raise money to help defray costs at my family reunion next spring. I live in Texas, the cruise will originate in Texas. How do I find out if this is legal?

Thank you for your time.

  1. I wouldn't think you can just buy them and thn change them name because they need anmes, ages, addresses, etc.  I would check with the cruise line or travel agent before you did anything.

  2. I would call the cruise line and find out what to do.

  3. it will probably cause some suspicion with the cruise line to change the names on the tickets.  you need to check with the cruise line and ask about that.  check with your chamber of commerce about having your raffle.  some places only allow them for non-profit organizations.  good luck!!!
