Or should you take the training, maybe learn something first, then shop? Or does it matter?

  1. In Texas if you are 21 you can carry a concealed weapon without a license. Although I strongly believe you should be very familiar with the gun you are carrying, the way it shoots and how to remove safety if it even has safety. If you want to take the gun into public places you need to have a license the classes are easy

  2. Shop, Get a license, then learn how to carry it and use it.

  3. No. You have to show your earnestness by gut-shooting somebody first on Sat. night.

  4. You must get a concealed carry permit first. it is a to easy course, some safety lecture and then some shooting.  Just go to a gun store with a range and they will set you up, most will rent you a gun to take the test, you can decide later what you want to buy. I believe the cost is now around $200. which is a lot less then the court costs if you are caught with a gun and no permit
