  1. ok say there are 5 guys playing.  one guy has 500 you got 400 the guy goes all in and he can so everyone folds then comes to you.  you take it and go all in.  if you win you got 800 hes got 100.  if he won you would be out of the game.

  2. yes.  He can only recover the amount of his bet if he wins.  Once you realize that this is the situation, you have to do a little math to get the pot right.  His bet would be the main pot and multiples based on the number of players involved in the pot.  The other bets would be side bets settled between the remaining players involved.

  3. Technically, if a player has fewer chips than the amount of the last bet, and wants to play the hand, the player CALLS the bet with his lesser amount, which then puts the player "all in".

A side pot is then created with only the matching amounts to that players "all in" bet, with the balance of the chips in the pot still available to be won by the remaining players. If betting continues, then all furthur chips are placed in the second pot and the all in player cannot win these, even if he has the best hand, it will go to one of the remaining players with the next best hand.

  4. if a player go all in they can't bet over the amount their opponent has

    eg

    i got $80 and u got $60

    i can only bet $60

  5. yes he can, but he can only win the amount he bets from the other players, the rest goes into a side pot.

i.e.  5 other people bet $60 but he has $40.  the main pot would be $240 with a side pot of $100 that he is not able to win.
