Question:

In Texas how many miles of road can there be with no posted speed limit??

I want to know if I have a case to fight a ticket I received on a back road with no sign for over 10 miles.

Any help would be appreciated!! :)

  1. I don't know about Texas but most states have a set speed limit that applies to all roads that are not otherwise posted.

    Here in NJ, all roads are 50mph in rural zones and 25mph in all business and residential zones unless they are posted otherwise.

    New York's numbers are 50 and 30.

    Texas probably has a similar statute.

  4. No because if you will remember your speed is governed by the type of road and location. There are set speeds for different type of roads. Speed signs are used to inform of a lower speed than normal. Most of the roads have set speeds and are posted around the state.
