  1. The agricultural "revolution" in the country I live in, UK was initially driven by technological improvements (Jethro Tull's drill) and the opening up of land into bigger fields, together with the disappearance of the strip farming / runrig system.

    Selective breeding came a lot later and continues to today.

    The greatest early chnge for agricultural workers was an increase in working hours


  2. Many kinds of farm animals were bred (hybridized); especially in cattle and chickens.  They were bred for larger yields and disease resistance and extreme environmental tolerance.

    You know how mechanization helped.  How do tractors, irrigation systems, harvesters, etc. help?
