In Twilight, what does Edward mean when he says that Bella will 'be the death of him'?

It's where he's kissing her against the Jeep and I think she gets more into it the kiss than he wanted her to and he pulls away and says "d**n it Bella! You'll be the death of me, I swear you will"

Does he mean that he's going to lose control or ... not =S I'm confused

She's pushing him, and he might lose control, and kill her, and then he would die b/c if she dies, he lover her so much, that he'd kill himself.

o he was just like out of control or sumthin thats y he said that and remember l8r that they had like conversation and he was saying that he is just really mad at him self that hes not perfect or sumthin,lol. is there anyway ed can b more perfect....impossible,lol

I think it means that she might make him like lose control over himself and if he does that she will be gone so he will go kill himself.

well he did say that without her, his life has no meaning to it, so if he does lose control of himself and kills her, then he would kill himself too.

I really think it's more of just a figure of speech. I say it all the time. Sure you could find loads of possible meaning behind it, but I really just think she meant it as a figure of speech and nothing more.

she's human and he's a vampire.

If he hurts her which is 100% possible cause he is immortal and can crush her like a twig, then he could never live with himself if he hurts her/kills her because he's in love with her.

so yeah like lose control too, cause if he loses control and forgets that's she isn't immortal like him then he would hurt her. so yeah same thing haha.

twilight i have to say is one of the best books i've ever read haha. the whole series is amazing haha.

I think he means that she is pushing him and making him want her more than he should. He doesn't want to accidentally lose it when he's kissing her lol.

Well because he's a vampire there is a possible chance he could kill or hurt her, the more he gets romantic with her the more he feels the temptation :)

He thinks he's going to lose control in which case Bella would die, and then he said if she ever died, he would go to the Voltouri and have them kill him so that's what he meant...ya. hope that helped!
