In UK: How much is a billion?

The same as in U.S.? Thousand millions?

Or the same as in Europe? A million of millions?

  1. In normal usage, a billion is one thousand millions. In Standard English, a billion is a million millions (lthough the long scales are hardly ever used now in the UK and the government stopped using it in the 1970s).


  2. After much thought, debate and research: I can confirm, 1 billion is 1000 million !!
