It is now taken over by a new management, to turn it into a boutique retail shop as a business concern. Using charity as a marketing tatics to make profit. The managing team are paid salaries but the other helpers and salespersons are volunteers and must be young and not pensioners who want to help for a charity.

  1. Management of charity shops where always paid anyway, my friend was one and on a good wage.  It's a shame the volunteers have to be young, thats ageist.  If the profit goes to the needy I suppose thats ok?

  2. Like any large charity, it has professional people who run it and made key decisions, the day to day running of the small shops is generally done by volunteers, although I think the shop managers are paid a wage......the boutique idea sounds quite good, it makes it stand out from most of the other charity shops.
