In US military invasions , what branches and divisions have historically been first deployed?

Depends on many things..In desert storn the Army and USMC invaded at the same time but the Army was used as a diversion while the USMC took Kuwait..

In a embassy recue several years ago the USMC was the only force present, so its hard to say that anyone other the USMC was first in there..

If you wanted to get all technical about it then the CIA is always the first to fight..Many times Army special ops go in first..

But here is the bottom line..The first branch to be in one place engaged in combat with full support will always be the USMC as they travel with what they need..NO OTHER branch can make this claim..

Special operations personel are always on the ground first.  They are normally there to make reconnaisance probes and gather itelligence.

The force that is deployed is dependant upon whomever is closest, most of the time.

The mission protocol also has a bearing.  If it is an incursion on a shore, Marine Recon makes the best candidates.  If it is a deep penetration over hundreds of miles of terrain. Army Special Forces or Navy SEALs are better suited.

Army Special Forces were in Afghanistan before sundown, in the USA, on 9/11.

You seem to forget that the might y ARMY only deploys when war is present..THe Marines deploy all the time and are always near any point of conflict..

When a crisis breaks out the USMC is already there with all its gear..and the Amry is scrambling to locate its people and gather its gear..This is a huge difference iin the two branches.

Before Desert Storm, it was Seal teams followed by Marines.

Beginning with Desert Storm, we may still send in seal teams but then we begin sending in the part-timers.

Full-time military has better things to keep us occupied, maintaining 135 bases on foreign soil and keeping the world's oceans open for traffic.

the u.s army if your specking history . marines  was bron from the army  so before they were the first ones in the army was. the navy need people to garud prisoner so they called on the army and from there they were made marines .
