In USA schools, how old are seniors in high school and college?

Always wondered, sort of assume high school seniors are like 16 and college seniors are 18?

  1. By the time one graduates high school (at the end of senior year), he/she is usually 18 years old. However, some seniors may be 17 when they graduate as well. When one graduates from a 4 year university, he/she should be around 22 years old. Although, it tends to take a lot of college students some extra time (years really) to graduate if they take some time off from school, or if they were just part time students.
