This historical price data used to be available on Yahoo Finance (USA). In fact some of it still is on other Yahoo country sites (^N225 historical price data is still available via Yahoo Singapore but not finance.yahoo.com, for example). It seems that about the time Yahoo recently switched over its financial charting to the new Beta version, though, the raw historical price data became unavailable. The data is still obviously since Yahoo Finance can chart it. Is it just not available to Yahoo users any more? Or is it a but that Yahoo just hasn't fixed yet?

  1. Here is the response I received when I went through the Contact Customer Care button at the bottom of http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/finance...

    Received 5/31/07:

"Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Finance.

As you have noticed we are currently having an issue with historical quotes data being temporarily unavailable for the specified date range and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

At this time we would like to reassure you that we are doing everything in our power to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Unfortunately we can not offer any additional information in regards to this."
