did not understand why yahoo! doesnot blieve its importance in www,Ballmer is an unpolite person without any knowledge and insight about science...

  1. Keep in mind that Microsoft is trying to buy Yahoo! for business reasons.  And remember that what is being said publicly is simply what the companies want their opponents and the public to read.

    So, I am pretty sure that Yahoo! thinks they are an important component and innovator in the www, regardless of whatever is written in the media.

    As for Balmer, he's been a top executive at a top software company for quite some time.  So, although he is not a scientist, he probably has a better understanding of computer science than you think and a better understanding than he reveals to the media and the public.  

    It wouldn't surprise me if his manners were bad and he was often rude, though, since he's become so powerful that he is rarely in a position where he would feel obliged to be polite.  Similarly, a few years ago President Bush was speaking near a microphone that he thought was off when it wasn't, and he revealed himself to be quite vulgar and rude - I guess because he no longer feels an obligation to be polite since he's the top dog.
