In a 5.1 surround sound system, what percentage of sound comes out of a center speaker.

is a center speaker really that important. should I invest in a quality center speaker. what about action movies? much sound go through center speaker in action dvds?

  1. Basically, in layman's terms, the Center speaker is for dialogue and voices. So yes, it is quite important.


  2. it really depends on the system... you can adjust it to whatever is needed :)


  3. well a center speaker actually isnt as loud as the front 2 speakers. what the center speaker is meant for is reproducing voices. when you watch movies voices will only come from the center speaker. this is why its so important to buy a good center speaker becuase you need a good speaker that can reproduce dialogue clearly and accurately as thats what makes up most of movies. thats not to say thats all they do. they also contribute during music as well. its just they are usually used to reproduce voices. so investing in a good one is a great idea.
