i would have to say k-rod because he is younger.

Mariano is older but still knows how to pitch very well. but lets be honest k-rod is in his prime right now.

rivera no doubt, k-rod is too sporadic, rivera doesnt fool around when he is out there.  he tries to get you out every pitch, he does not waste any

K-Rod is putting up solid numbers but Mariano has consistently had some of the best numbers of all time in the playoffs. K-Rod can be a fluke like Gagne, whereas Mariano has proved himself time after time. Mariano is the man.

Mariano, hands down. He has one of the best post-season ERAs in history and has been there before. As good as K-rod is, I want playoff experience and dominance over regular season stats. 2001 not withstanding, Rivera has proven that he is the 1 person you can count on in October.

Even if K-rod does break the save record, that basically only means that he had enough save opportunities to break the record. That is not necessarily a clear indicator on who is better.

K-Rod. This would be a perfect ending to a record setting season.  And K-Rod DOES have World Series experience. He was a big reason for the Angels winning it in 02 as Percy's set-up man.
