my husband was involved in a car accident, it was his fault but he was driving his work-towtruck, they called the police to make the report but the police never arrived, they waited for an hour and a half, so my husband just gave the other person his name because he did not have his driver's licence with him, is the name enough to find him?

  1. If your husband was driving his work truck and it has a company logo on the side of it, or if the other driver remembered the name of the company, or in the time they were waiting took down the truck license tag, I think all they would need is his name, once they called the tow company and asked about him.  The other person may also decide to file a claim with their own insurance company.  They will track down why they feel is responsible later, because they have the resources.

I'm confused are you worried that the guy will or won't find your husband? I'm assuming that your husband didn't get any information for the other driver either.

Zabasearch.com can yield some interesting search results if you have an uncommon name and the person knows what city or part of town you might live, in, your approximate age, etc.  I've found several friends that I've grown out of touch with via that website.  Try your husbands name and see if if you can find him there.

Hope everything is okay and no one was hurt. Good Luck. ~J~

  2. There are a couple factors.  If your name is Jon Johnson, it might be alittle hard.  Its matters on how much of a unique name he has.  The only thing is since it was a company car, the company will probably file a claim with the insurance company, which is then going to go look for a police report.  Since one was never filled, you could have some problems.  Most states have a law that you have to file a police report within 72 hours of the incident.  Failing to do so, could end up in a driver license revoking.  Even though the police didn't go, you can always go to the station and file one.  But they will probably find him because the insurance will have the companies info and the company has his.

  3. An internet search for MY name returns at least 6 different people.  NONE of them are actually me.  On the other hand, if I were waiting for the police for 90 minutes, I would have the license number of the other vehicle and the company name of the side of the tow truck.  That would narrow the list considerably.

  4. Probably not, but if the other person got his tag number he might be charged with leaving the scene.  I hope the accident wasn't serious, and he'll likely not get in any trouble without a police report or witnesses.
