  1. I feel your pain.  I am going to a movie, the handicapped seats are great. If you don't like covering your toes get a pedicure, guys toes are often in need of a clean up, stay with clear polish though.

  2. Well it's obvious you can't do what you normally used to do, you'll just have to find other things to entertain yourself, temporarily. Go for walks, stop and talk with your neighbors, invite some friends over and play video games or get on the computer. Have someone drive you to places you used to go for fun. Just get in the back seat and lay your leg across the seat. Any activities you'll be limited to, but being out there is better than sitting at home. The 6 or 8 weeks will pass before you know it. You'll then probably be fitted for a walking cast. Enjoy the chores free time, and get acquainted with some things you haven't done for sometime and relive some old memories. Wishing you the very best and good luck.

  3. With a bit of practice on your crutches you should be able to do pretty much anything you could before. It does take a couple of weeks for your arms, shoulders and your good leg to strengthen, but it will happen.

  4. Sorry to hear that, I've been on crutches several times...they're not fun.  But you can still do things....I enjoyed puzzles, reading, word search, sudoku, cross words, or talking on the phone with people I haven't talked to in a while.  I also stocked up on movies and watched them.  If you have friends or family around...board or card games are a good distraction.   I also spent time on the internet, caught up on unfinished paperwork, unfinished projects like painting or writing.   You can still go out to dinner, a movie, or another event, but be sure you will have ample time to sit and rest if necessary.   Good luck.
