Well, freight train engines are MOVED, not powered by an ELECTRIC MOTOR....that electric motor is POWERED by a diesel engine.  Whereas the autos and trucks on the highways and byways are vice-versa.   mathematically i dont know the specifics of how much diesel it takes to power that electric motor for so long.
