In a control ed delivery using an informant after officer parks his car so he will be able to see informant?

clearly officer searches informant he gose to the spot where he is to pick up a police radio what if informant leaves the spot gose 3 blocks awaywhere he said he recived radio is it ok for informant to be out of the officers sight ?

  1. yes if the informant has been proven as reliable the officer does not have to be in visual contact, but can take what the informant says as reliable.


  2. For safety and tactical reasons, they are almost always out of the officers sight at some point.

    There is no legal requirement to keep him in sight. As long as the officer can justify where and why he lost sight, it probably isn't going to make a difference in the case.
