Question:

In a cross country race is it better to pass someone going up a hill or down?

and dont say both as i asked what was better and they both cant be better

  1. if your passing them.. it's always good.

    i mean there's not really a difference. i guess going down a hill rather than going up because you gain speed.


  2. It's better to pass someone no matter what, you fool.

    But it is much, much EASIER to pass someone going down the hill. The acceleration adds to your momentum.

    Remember, don't let the hill do the work for you - literally SPRINT down the hill, because the guy next to you will be doing the former (giving him a chance to "rest" by letting the hill do the work for him while you whizz past the chump).

  3. It is best to pass them whenever you can, but if you can drive up the hill and pass them then you have more time to accelerate because you are on the down hill before them.

    Also you will break them mentally, they are hurting and you are gaining ground.

    It makes it easier for them to give up and stop racing and just run, so you will gain more ground the rest of the race.
