  1. It is best to sell them cheap because then it makes more people want to buy them. I hate doing garage sales, because you know how much they cost you and then they are sold for really cheap. Cheap goods go better than really expensive ones.

  2. Yes. People won't buy something if it's not a really good bargain, because it is used and they have the mindset that you couldn't get anything else out of it. If you want more money for your items, try  a consignment shop, pawn shop, classified ads, or ebay. Use the garage sale as a last resort to get rid of your items.

  3. No. There is no law regulating how much you sale your household items for.

But if the price is too high, who is gonna buy it? If you are asking close to store price people will probably just go ahead, pay a little bit more and go to a store to get the item.

  4. call it a moving sale and you can put whatever prices you want on it. If people think it is too much, you can always get a # and call them at the end of the day if the item did not sell and you can negotiate prices. Or take it to a consignment shop.

  5. No - you can ask what you think is a fair price - but you must bear in mind that most people go to garage sales looking for bargains - so may not have pockets full of cash!  For more valuable items, consider putting them on ebay with a reserve price, or even auctioning them off with a local auction house.  Maybe you even have free ad newspapers in your area? Or there are plenty of online sets where you can advertise for free.  Good luck!
