In a new housing development, how many are or have to be social housing?

i'v been told that fgor every housing development now a percentage has to be social? is this true?

  1. Apparently it depends on where you are building as to the exact am mount but it seems to be anywhere between 15% and 40%. It doesn't neccesarily have to be "social" housing either (although the vast majority are it seems), it just needs to be "affordable" and in most cases that seems to mean it is given over as key worker or part buy\part rent housing.

    The best thing to do is check the "affordable housing policy" for the area you are interested in.


  2. 10% unfortunatly for the peaple that buy their own, next door too one of them.
