In a particular Yahoo Group, can I set up 2 or 3 different mailing lists within the group?

You can by creating databases for particular subjects such as medications (just using this as an example based on what some health oriented groups do) by having people put information about what medicines they have taken and what side effects they may have had.

As for creating subgroups like the main group heading, that feature is not available as of yet but that's a great suggestion that you can put in the Feedback section on the Yahoo Groups' homepage.  When you get to: http://groups.yahoo.com then look for a section in the lower left hand corner of the Yahoo Groups screen that says, "Give us Feedback".

It will then take you to a form where you can make a suggestion to help the Yahoo Groups staff make Yahoo Groups even better.
