Where is this research you speak of? Every single study I've ever read (and I am a linguistics major) say men and women say about the same amount of words of day, with men slightly ahead.

Those numbers mean nothing without sample size number, what statistical analysis and measurements were used, the standard deviations, whether that is the mean, median or mode, whether is it statistically significant, etc.

You cannot make conclusions without all the relevant information.  A lot of times people make false conclusions out of research they do not understand.
