you know those restaurants where they give you a number, and deliver your food to that number. They clean up afterwards, but don't serve you completely. How much do you tip?

  1. when I go to a resturant I usally pay abt 2-5 dollars

but the resturant ur talking about I think about 2 dollars are enough.

  2. how ever you feel you should give, but always give more than just a dollar.

  3. I like to tip a dollar per person, but if I am the only one ordering, I tip 2 dollars.

  4. sounds like a fast food place but, i'd leave mabye 2-3 dollars?

  5. I usually tip a couple of dolloars depending on the amount of my bill.

  6. To be honest, I would probably only leave a dollar unless they are refilling my drink glass. I would then leave more.

  7. I'll usually tip about the same as elsewhere...  Maybe 15-20% for average-good service.  It's cheaper at the types of restaurants you're describing, so it really only equates to a couple bucks or so...

  8. you have to give 5-7 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$... for a good tip

  9. I would leave 15% of the total bill.  My rule of thumb is 20% minimum where they do serve you complately, usually with good service I tip 25 - 35%.

Some people leave a dollar or two per person.  It really is up to you as they are not "servers" working for tips.  They are being paid federal minimum wage.  It is just part of their job, and  at most places, you must take your baskets or plates or tray to garbage yourself. You really arent supposed to leave it on table.....at least the ones I frequent.  They just bring you the food as courtesy.

  10. i would leave $1-2 per person

  11. I don't know, but at this kind of place, they are not serving you at all.  The tip is "to insure performance," so I suppose the tip should actually be based on how clean you FOUND the table in the first place.

I would say that the bill total has no relation to the tip and you might leave a buck per place setting that you are leaving behind.

I haven't been in such a place in years.

  12. I give approximately 10 percent of the cost of dinner directly to the waitress/waiter when they deliver the meal.  I have seen too many people take money from a table on their way out, so I don't leave the money as I leave.  If I have a child with me, I let them tip the server.
