Not sure what you are after here - but  could it be you are referring to the flexible wires used to connect up on the circuit boards used in schools?

These are just conducting wires normally made from a copper alloy and covered in insulating plastic with a plug on each end - represented in a circuit diagram as a straight solid line between the components in the circuit.

Not too sure what you mean. A cable is all I can think of. Also, wire is still commonly used.
