In a textile business, what is used instead of paper patterns.

I make my own paper patterns so I can use them again and again to make toys. If I start my own business I will need something more durable. What does the industry do about this?

Dye cutting using a press that cuts many ply of fabric at one time.

The "dye" is a blade formed into a specific shape.  The dye is forced through the fabric by the weight of the press.

That's how THEY do it.  However, you may just need a more durable pattern material such as poster board.
