In a war with Russia .How long do you think Russia could stand against the U.S.A. ?

Ok every1 listen... russia, U.S.A., france and the uk are ALL in the UN so they all work together on peacekeeping missions like Chad and so on. if there was somehow a war between USA and russia wat makes people think uk+france would take sides?

if you decide to completly disreguard all of that you come take into account america has approx 1917600 active personnel where as russia has 324,2000 pretty big difference eh?

Not very long. They are even having trouble taking over a simple country like Georgia. That's not that good for such a large country that many say have an "impressing" military.

Even if they did start a war it would end soon and they would not even think about using nucleur weapons against us with all the military and satilites we have. So even if they did go to war with us i think it would be resolved soon.

More countries hate America than Russia, the States can't defend itself to over half the world. I'd be on Russia's side (Canadian opinion). Russia has never been truthful about their military resources, they could have bigger, better, stronger and more nukes than the U.S.. I say Russia would win and depending on who's on who's side, 2 and a half to 4 years.

It will be a nuke and non-conventional arms war. A couple of days. As far as I understand  nano-tech, there is no way defending against them. I think Putin likes doing judo and Bush also has some hobby. No one will go kamikazing. Even if somebody was lucky to win, losses would be heavy and Al-Quaeda would have a nice chance against the winner.

If theres not, 2 years.

Just depends on who helps Russia, because France, England, and a number of other countries would help us fight Russia, and what little forces Georgia has left. But you must remember that Russia is Big land wise, and they have used the scorched earth policy before, which means that they would burn the land so no resources could be used. In modern day that means they would nuke there own country, before we got in to far, Russia is big enough for one side of it to be nuked and the other to be ok. It would draw out for a while years, But lets try not to get that far, I really want gas prices to go down, can any body remember the last time we wernt in a war?

Wrong guess. As long as NATO does not invade Russia we'll e just fine. Such war would be conventional. No nukes will be used, thus leading to a long, painful and destructive WW2 style war.

But if an army enters Russian territory than that army might be "nuclearly" terminated.

I would imagine it would be long and drawn out, because most of US troops are over used and exhausted because of multiple tours to Iraq with little rest. It would take a while to train fresh troops, Russia could probably take on the US right now with our military's weakened state. However, I think the rest of the world is pissed off at Russia because they haven't agreed to cease-fire with Georgia, so the UN should step in. I would say about a year.

Looked at from the perspective that WW III would be nuclear and WW IV would be bows and arrows.

WW III would be a draw and WW IV would go on for ever, or until both sides came to realise they had forgotten why they were fighting.

However if they missed out the nuclear stage and went straight at it like hammer and tongs, the west would have to achieve victory before winter set in to have a chance, if it went to winter, Russia would probably win, but would be in the same position as in 1945, i.e. victorious.

All in all calling one another names is childish, but infinitely better than any of the other outcomes.  The US used be the toddler with the lethal toys, but seem to have yielded position to the present Russian administration.

And how do you explain their claims that they'd have Afghanistan sorted in 3 months! And here we are 7 years later - and they are getting in deeper and deeper. They will end up having to withdraw with their heads low, just like Vietnam.

The war on terror - a posse approach was taken - and they've still not captured Bin Laden yet.

Iraq - what a mess. After 5 years - there's no sign of success - and McCain says they could be there for 100 years!!

And If you're talking about a nuclear war - neither side would survive because they both have enough nukes each to completely destroy all traces of Russia and USA respectively.

Russia will not be able to withstand the "hailstones" from God much less the US military.

Russia needs to read Ezekiel 38.  And I prophesy against Russia telling them that when God's fury comes up in His face as mentioned in verse 18  that in God's jealousy and in the fire of His wrath overflowing rain, great hailstone, fire, and brimstone will come upon Russia and all who fights with Russia against Israel.

God said He will bring Russia against His land in the latter days so that the heathen, unbelievers will know God.
