All women with green eyes look great in brown colors from light beiges to deep chocolate browns. Purples and pinks also complement with green eyes. Some people will suggest that you shouldn't wear green shadow if you have green eyes. However, light green can be very flattering when applied sparingly.

A reddish cocoa brown is great under the browbone and a light peach or pink is good for highlight areas. The reason plum (which is a blue and red mix), reddish cocoa, peach (which is yellow & pink), and pink (which is red and lots of white) are so good for green eyes is that they all have a version of red used to make the eyeshadow color.

Red is the opposite of green so it provides the most contrast. That's why green eyes will really show up better with these shadow colors!! : )

Golds look amazing, as does any purple or peach. Dark green can also look very flattering if you have blueish-green eyes, and warm browns will make them "pop".

I think that it depends more on weather warm tones or cool tones look good on you.  If the lightest flecks in your eyes are yellow and you have more yellow or olive looking skin you could wear browns.  If the flecks in your eyes are white and your skin has pink tones you should wear cool tones, like purples pinks and blues.
