In america is it possible to determine who the babies father is before the birth?

i was just wondering cuz alot of american programmes say they can test while the persons pregnant

Anything is possible in the USA. They allow a r****d to run their country. They are even allowing a black man to run their country.

It's possible but highly unlikely that you will get a doctor to agree to doing the tests without a very good reason.

i agree with other poster, there are no 100% safe ways to test since you will need a sample from the baby for any testing, and any gathering could jeopardize the pregnancy... if you have other reasons for having the amnio. then by all means ask if they can also test for paternity but otherwise i'd just wait

They can, the same as anywhere else, but it there is a risk involved.

you can have what's called an amniocentesis which is where they use a syringe to draw up amniotic fluid to to test for abnormalties with the fetus and they can also determine paternity this way, however there is a significant risk of miscarriage and fetal deformaties due to infections, so unless it is vital, i would just wait til bubs is born

Yes it's possible with an amniocentesis test, where they insert a needle into the amniotic sac and extract amniotic fluid from around the baby, and determine the DNA from that. However, it can be very dangerous to the baby, so it's better to wait until after birth.
