Call the cops.  And do what it says on the back of your insurance card.  I had someone rear end me one time, he gave me bogus insurance info.  I didn't call the cops, should have.

ALWAYS get a police report...later the other driver may say you said is was your fault or claim non existent injury...

I will always wait for the police and get an accident report. Without an accident report the police will not get involved if the other driver's insurance turns out to be phony. That happened to my nephew. The girl who hit him had let her insurance expire, the cops said they couldn't get involved as it was his word against hers and he never did get anything for the truck she ruined.

Call the police but you don't have to call 911.  Just call their local number and than can help you this way.  At the same time get the other drivers info.  Make sure you also get tag numbers, and if you have a disposable camera, digital camera, or camera phone always take pictures, if all possible.  You never know what the insurance may say about the damage.  Also pictures are worth a thousand words.

If the damage to the vehicle is over 1,000 dollars you MUST call the police or they can cite you for a hit and run.

You can call the local police dispatch without using 911 services, I have it in my contacts in my cell phone.  Always get a police report.  Insurance companies fight very dirty.
