In anatomy, how is the paramedian plane different from the median plane?

Is the median only through the middle of the body and then paramedian anything else cut in the middle? ie. if I cut the heart or lung in half is it a medial plane or paramedial plane going through?

  1. Median plane is a vertical line passing through the center of the body dividing it into equal right and left halves. Whereas paramedian plane are planes that are stiuated to one or the other side of the median plane and parallel to it.

    In other words median plane is in the center and on either side of it is paramedian
