In asia (Singapore and Phuket) what are the plug socket fittings...are they like european or american???

They look similar to uk plugs but are slightly different. You can buy adaptors from superdrug for a few pounds.

In Singapore, they have the British Rectangular Blade Plug. In Thailand, they have the 2 Flat Plug.

you can buy the international adapter in the Carrefour in Phuket and available anywhere in Singapore.

In Singapore they use the UK plug (3 flat rectangular prongs) and Thailand mainly uses the European plug (2 round prongs) and also a US plug (2 flat prongs). But I was fine with just the European plug.

It might be easier if you just bought a universal adapter. That way you have all the different plugs at your disposal and it's easy to just interchange between all of them.
