Hm...  It could go both ways, they both do great combos and fight well, but Lloyd does have more experience...  

I'd say both are great, Tales of the Abyss is lengthy and has a great storyline if you follow it and it has a great battle system.  Tales of Symphonia is a classic which also has a great storyline (my opinion) and a good battle system for it's time.  Both have high replay value.  Your choice.  :D
