  1. To make biodiesel, they mix methanol and vegetable oil. That must be a ratio commonly used.

  3. I'm not sure where that ratio came from.  Usually when you make biodiesel you need 10 lbs of alcohol for every 100 lbs of vegetable oil used to make the fuel.  Methanol is the most commonly used alcohol.  But this would be a 10:1 ratio.
