  1. Food is partially digested through chewing and saliva, then it travels down the esophagus and is pushed down by muscle contractions called peristalsis.

  2. Food passes along the alimentary canal in the body. The alimentary canal starts from the mouth and continues upto the a**s.

Food mainly moves along the alimentary canal by peristalsis. These are the rhythmic wave like contractions of the muscles found along the canal.

  3. the passage is called the alimentary canal. Starts of with the mouth and ends with the a**s. Consists of the food pipe, stomach, small intestine, large intestine. Water is absorbed mostly by the large intestine. Waste material is excreted by the a**s and excess water exits by ducts connected to the kidney and then is excreted out.

Along the food pipe it moves by peristalisis.

  4. The passageway through which food moves is called the alimentary canal.  The alimentary canal is the digestive tract.  It starts at the mouth and ends at the a**s.

Food passes through the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, r****m and waste leaves via the a**s.

Along the way food is broken down in many different forms.  Mechanical digestion occurs through mastication or chewing and chemically because of saliva.  Peristalsis, or the involuntary wave-like motion of muscles, moves the food down the esophagus and to the stomach to be broken down even more.

In the stomach, gastric acid breaks down food as well as churning.

In the small and large intestines, nutrients and electrolytes are absorbed and the waste that is left over leaves the body.

    Hope this helps. =]
