  1. I think you need to learn a bit more about blackjack and card counting before you try it Your question is about the count, and there are some variables besides just the true count to raise your bet.

Here is a link to a lot more information on the subject of blackjack, including how to count cards and when to raise your bet, it even tells you why you should raise it!

    Good luck at the tables!

  2. If you have to ask, you're not ready. What I also want to suggest you make sure your betting is progressive..not extreme. You don't want to go from small($5 one hand to $200 the next) to large bets, that shows the house you maybe a counter. They will take a picture of you, watch the count and you to see if they should 'flat bet' you. Flat bet? You aren't allowed to change your bet throughout the shoe, be it pitch or shoe game. So get your count down..buy a book. Practice. And be careful with what you do when on a table.  There are a few counting techniques out there. If you want to be a card counter, you need to know how to count, which systems you want to use and how to bet.

  3. Card counting is far more complicated than that.  First off there are numerous different counting systems.  So a 'good' count is going to vary depending on which system you are using.

Then other factors like number of decks used, and specific house rules will have an impact.  Then you need to know perfect basic strategy or counting cards is a fruitless exercise.

I'm going to suggest you get a good Blackjack book and start studying from there.  It takes weeks of intensive practice to be good at this stuff, and that's assuming you are very smart.  You are not going to pick up the magic answer to card counting on Yahoo! Answers and then take Vegas for millions.

  4. according to the way i was taught to count cards you should be at a plus 3 to make your larger bet. i hope this helps

  5. If you have to ask this question you are no where ready to try out card counting at a casino.  However, to answer your question.  A +3 count would be a good place to start increasing your bet.  If you get a count of +10 or more I would start betting close to the table limit.

  6. If you have to ask, then you are not ready.  Don't jump the gun and ruin it for yourself.  You will either lose a lot of money, or The casino will instantly spot you as a counter, and from there your counting days are over.

This really depends on the counting method you're using, and how many decks the casino uses in blackjack.  If you're using the KO count (the most popular count method) where 2-7 are a +1, 8 and 9 are 0, and 10 J Q K A are -1 then you can figure out your IRC (Initial running count) by taking the equation IRC=(d-1) x -4.  So if the casino plays with 8 decks, then your IRC is -28.  If the casino plays 6 decks, the IRC is -20.  Follow so far?  After you know the IRC and assuming that you are counting like a pro, then you need to know what is called the key point.  Key point is when statistically the odds shift from the house's favor to yours.  At 8 decks the key points is -6 and for 6 decks it is -2.  I fyou really want to be safe, wait until the running count is at or above 0.  This is when you start (gradually) raising your bets so you don't look like you are counting.  Once you get to the key point, double your minimum bet.  Once you are 4-6 points above the key point, raise your bet to five times the low bet, and 10 or more above you can bet 10 times your low bet.

YOU CAN ONLY BEAT THE HOUSE USING A CARD COUNTING METHOD AND A PLAYING STRATEGY.  YOU MUST STICK TO THE PLAYING STRATEGY AT ALL TIMES, OTHERWISE YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING CALLED "GAMBLING".  SAVVY?

Check the site below, it has some helpful info on card counting and a game to sharpen your counting skills.  Also buy a deck and count through it.  I spend 2-3 hours daily with a deck.  If you do the math, you should end up with a count of +4 after going through a single deck.  Now do it in 30 seconds or better.  It took me 2 months of constant practice to do it in less than 30 seconds, and I still occasionally miss a card at the casino.  Hope that helps!

  7. have a look at http://www.best-casinosites.com/blackjac... to learn how to do it. There is a video tutorial there
