A Title-Fight is a fight where there is a title at Stake. Such as a the Champion fights a contender. These are usually the main events. A Non-Title fight is when two contenders are fighting to climb up the rankings or to prove they are worthy of a Title-Fight. These are usually put on the undercard. Hope this helps.

A title fight is a fight where a championship belt is at stake.  These fights typically tend to be scheduled for 12 rounds.  If it is for a world title (Ring Magazine, WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO), then the fight has to be scheduled for 12 rounds, but if it is for a regional title (NABF, NABO, etc.) then it may be less than 12 rounds.

A non-title fight is the opposite of a title fight- a fight where no championship belt is at stake.  These types of fights are usually sheduled for 10 rounds or less, but occasionally, they are 12 round fights.  A good example would be the Roy Jones, Jr. vs. Felix Trinidad fight- it was a 12 round fight, but no title was at stake.

if a world champion has a non title fight, he and his opponent are not required to make the division weight, eg 147 pounds for a welterweight fight....they can each agree to make the fight at around 152 pounds.
