  1. you always must fight in your own weight division. that is why there are weight divisions. if you were fighting as an amateur boxer your coach would probably have you fight at either 152 which is Welterweight or at Light welterweight which is 141.

Don't worry so much about your weight right now.

best thing to do is just go to a boxing gym and start learning and when you are eventually ready for a fight you can worry about your weight then

  2. Can you clarify:  Is 155 your normal weight? or fighting weight?  If 155 is your normal weight when off the ring, then you must fight much below that, say 147 lbs.  If that's your fighting weight, then you better shed off 1 lb to make the 154 lb.  And fight boxers within that weight class.

  3. You fight in the divison that you want. You could fight in super welterweight which is 154 or middle weight 160. or if you want go down to welter weight 147

  4. What help do you need?  That 155 isnt etched in stone.  Unless you're pro you shouldn't be worried about 5 lbs to the north or south of your current weight.

When I boxed I often fought people in the next two classes up,  and sparred with people heavier than that.  I started at 130 and grew naturally to 147 but I often sparred with guys as high as 175.  The first time I was knocked down in sparring was against a 185 pounder.  I was 135.

Im not sure what you need help with but I can assure you that you dont have to be overly worried about a few pounds difference.

    Good luck

  5. come down a couple pounds so u can fight at 154 and be a big fighter at that level as opposed to a little fighter at 160
