  1. Actually I have gotten it and the previous answer isnt really correct.  

    What happens is the cartilage in your ear only gets blood supply from the skin that is touching it.  When you get hit there hard enough fluid can build up which will separate the skin from the cartilage.  If this separation persists then it can kill the cartilage which will cause this hard buildup -- cauliflower ear.  

    Thus when you get hit there and the fluid builds up usually the doctor has to slice open the 'bubble' and drain it so the skin can touch the cartilage again and thus prevent this from happening.

  3. It's a condition caused by the rubbing and punching of the ear. This condition is mostly seen on wrestlers from their heads rubbing against each others or on the mat. Blood the cartilage and causes swelling causing the ear to look like cauliflower.
