  1. go to Ask.com

  2. $0.50

  3. anywhere from 50 to 63 cents a gallon.

  4. Water is a difficult product to wrap your arms around (no pun intended) in terms of deciding what the cost per gallon is, because it is sold in so many different measures and each measure, depending on its use, sells for a different price depending on where you live.

Here are some of the different measures of water:

    Hectare-feet:  A hectare is 2.471 acres

Acre-feet:  An acre us 43,560 square feet

Cubic Feet:  A cubic foot of water is 7.48 gallons

In Northen California, water sells for about $174/AF

In Southern California, water sells for about $270/AF

    CONVERSION FACTORS:

    Volume

    •      1 cubic meter = 264.2 gallons.

    •      1 cubic foot = 7.48 gallons, 28.32 liters.

    •      1 liter = .2642 gallons.

    •      1 acre foot = 325,851 gallons.

    Flow

    •      1 cubic meter per second = 35.32 cubic feet per second

    •      1 cubic foot per second for 1 day  = 1.98 acre feet.
